Initial evaluation

During our first encounter, I will obtain a thorough medical and psychiatric history to better understand your primary concerns. I will provide a diagnostic impression and offer recommendations to form a treatment plan. This may at times be a referral to another treatment setting. Medication prescriptions are sometimes, but not always, written in the first session.

First visits are strongly recommended to be in-person at our Philadelphia office.

Up to 60 min
Please request 90 min family meetings in advance

Ongoing treatment

We will meet regularly to monitor your progress and address any side effects from medications. The frequency of visits will vary depending on your needs. For psychotherapy, I usually recommend meeting every 1-2 weeks in the beginning, but this can be flexible long-term.

Medication management: 20 min
Psychotherapy: 45 min

Insurance

I believe in devoting as much time with individual patients as is clinically appropriate depending on their specific needs. To provide a high quality of care, I do not participate in any commercial health insurance plans as they can impose constraints on the duration and type of treatment. Patients with out-of-network benefits may be entitled to reimbursement by their health insurer, and I am happy to provide a billing statement to you for submission.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) in advance. Otherwise, you will be charged in full for the time that was reserved for you. For other office policies, please refer to Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates Office Policies and Fees.
